An Online Presence

I'm long overdue for having an online presence with my artwork.  Why didn't I begin one when I first decided that I was an artist?  First of all, it was the late 60's and there were no such things as websites.  Also, I was 5 years old when I declared my career in art.  Many years wiser, with advances in technology, and without a bedtime, I have no more excuses.  This is where I acknowledge all of my friends and family for encouraging and pestering me to start a website.  Add to that list of people, the local art community in Boston, specifically in Jamaica Plain.  The creative and supporting energy of other artists has brought me a long way.   Before deciding to use FASO I reached out to several other artists with questions about how they managed their websites and what platforms they used.  I'm tech savvy but I want my time to be spent creating art rather than managing a website.  FASO makes it easy to have a website that requires little time.

To blog or not to blog...

The decision to blog was difficult.  Clearly I chose to blog, and this is my first blog ever.   Blending my creative nature with my inclination toward over-organization, I plan to post monthly themed blogs.  In between I may post additional blogs as I work on new collages.  I find it useful to share my process, especially since my process often involves the emerging of small creatures that feel they should have as much decision power as me in the work as it is created.  For example, right now I am working on a collage of an outdoor scene which includes a few mice.  One of the mice in my collage is behaving quite well, hanging out in the tall grasses, patiently waiting to be glued in place.  However, another mouse has decided to roam off the canvas and has been last spotted in a library room.  More on that later.
