Dream Edge

In 2012 I was fortunate enough to have one of my collages accepted into an international exhibition Strange Glue (Collage at 100). It was my first opportunity to see a large collection of work in the medium that felt natural to me, and it afforded me an opportunity to see different approaches. Following that exhibition, I created Dream Edge, which diverged greatly from anything else I'd created. I loosened up. I played. I broke rules that I had been imposing on myself for no reason. The spider was the last thing to appear in this collage. Like the edge of dream where logic is fluid, he simply emerged from a small crack in a wall. I was certain he had just time travelled. These things are possible in dreams, and in collage.
